Trackr User Manual & Guide

Everything you need to install, activate, and master Trackr inside Adobe Premiere Pro.

1. Installation Guide

Option A: Automated Install via ZXP Installer (Recommended)

1. Download and install a free extension manager: Anastasiy's Extension Manager or aescripts + aeplugins ZXP Installer (both are 100% free for Mac & Windows).
2. Drag and drop your downloaded Trackr.zxp file into the installer window.
3. Restart Adobe Premiere Pro.

Option B: Manual CEP Directory Installation

If you prefer manual file placement, extract the Trackr folder into your system's CEP extension directory:

macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/Trackr
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\Trackr

2. Quick Start Workflow (3 Simple Steps)

Step 1: Open the Extension & Draw Mask

In Premiere Pro, open Window → Extensions → Trackr.
Select the video clip on your timeline that contains the moving subject. In the Effect Controls panel, create an Opacity Mask over the subject and track forward.

Step 2: Load Mask in Trackr

Click Load Mask in the Trackr panel. Trackr processes the mask data and stores the trajectory in high-speed local memory.

Step 3: Select Target Layer & Track

Select your target layer on the timeline (Essential Graphics title, logo PNG, adjustment layer, or video). Choose which properties to apply (Position, Scale, Rotation), and click Track (Follow) or Stabilize.

3. Troubleshooting & FAQs

Ensure your timeline playhead is over the clip and that the clip is selected in the timeline. In the Effect Controls panel, verify that you have created an Opacity Mask under the Opacity section.
In the Trackr panel, check the option for "Separate Transform Effects". This will generate dedicated Transform effects for Position, Scale, and Rotation in Effect Controls so you can adjust velocity curves independently.
If you installed manually without a signed ZXP manager, ensure player debug mode is enabled by running: defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.11 PlayerDebugMode 1 in Terminal, then restart Premiere Pro.
